Viewers ‘grossed out’ by Hamish and Andy’s show
WELL you can't say they didn't warn us.
Before the season finale of True Story with Hamish and Andy aired on Channel Nine last night, the two comedians warned viewers that the episode was a little gross.
On their national drive show yesterday, the duo revealed that the subject of the episode "revolves loosely around poo" and they described how they had to convince their boss at Channel Nine to let the show screen.
"There's one scene in particular that the Nine network didn't want to go to air," Andy said on radio.
Hamish and Andy even got Andy's mum, Marg, to watch a preview of the episode and broadcast her reaction on radio and on YouTube.
"It's too revolting really," Marg said, "it would have to be definitely my least favourite episode".
But even with ample warning, some viewers were still shocked by the content of the episode which was about a man called Sam who got stuck in a war of escalating dares with his housemate, Hindu.

"First it was a warm beer, then he'd have to piggyback me around the house for an hour and then next thing you know I'm snorting a line of mustard," Sam told the boys in the episode.
But then things went too far.
After Sam dared a blindfolded Hindu to inhale a mystery substance (which turned out to be fly spray), Sam told Hindu he was willing to accept any dare to make it up to him.
And boy, did Hindu come up with a doozy.
"I want you to pick up and hold one of my s**ts," he dared Sam.
Without totally giving away the ending, the rest of the episode detailed Sam's attempt to complete Hindu's stomach-churning challenge, but it was just a bit too much for some viewers:
Sorry #hamishandandy, but this episode of #truestory is disgusting. Changed channel.

True Story with Hamish and Andy has been a ratings winner for Channel Nine with episodes averaging more than 800,000 viewers.
A second season is already in production and the duo has been inundated with offers from overseas networks who are keen to buy the rights to the show.
"At the moment, our focus is Australia," Andy told Fairfax.
"But it's certainly something we'll look at when we come up with some breathing space. It's nice to know that the interest is there."
If Kerry Packer was alive he would have pulled this show by now. #hamishandandy #filthykiwis
