Top of Town offering city Festival revellers evening of fun
TOP of Town traders are looking to share in the celebrations of the Ipswich Festival by offering revellers an evening of food, entertainment, music and art.
During the spectacle of the festival's Heritage Bank Street Party, businesses in the nearby precinct will stay open late to cater to the influx of crowds.
The venues will have art displays, live music, multi-media shows, cafe dining and discounts on a variety of goods and services.
Province Modern Country owner Naomi George said the event was called Backstage Pass and put on in support of the festival.
Ms George said it was the first time Top of Town traders had banded together to create the event, held on May 3, from 4pm to 9pm.
She said the idea was to create a scene where festivalgoers could momentarily escape the big lights and bustle of the street party, to enjoy a more laidback pace.
She said food and dining venues would be offering a BYO option to create a more affordable and relaxed dining environment.
"It's all about creating that option where people can take a break from the festival to grab a nice dinner and have a browse at the shops," she said.
About a dozen Top of Town businesses have agreed to take part in Backstage Pass.
"It's just our way of doing something to be involved with and support this great festival of ours," Ms George said.
