Special offer for Ipswich residents to CMC Rocks QLD festival

IPSWICH residents will be able to buy discounted tickets before the rest of general public to the upcoming CMC Rocks QLD festival as part of a special offer for locals.

Festival organiser and CEO of Entertainment Edge Rob Potts said he hoped to get the local community as involved with CMC Rocks QLD as much as possible.

"We're keen to have the region take ownership of the festival, especially as it's going to be in this location over the next three years," he said.

"The feedback has been fantastic, there's been a real willingness to embrace the event within the community and that's why we're offering the discount.

"Locals will be able to get tickets earlier and at a discounted rate, at a later date we're also hoping to offer the opportunity to community groups, local sporting teams and university students wanting work experience to participate in the festival.

Mr Potts said although moving the festival site was hard work, it was worth it for the added space and benefits that Willowbank Raceway held.

"The new site has opened up a lot of new opportunities, it's much bigger so we'll be able to add corporate boxes, exhibition halls and a bigger camper bar which the campers will be happy about," Mr Potts said.

"We're expecting 12,000-15,000 people this year and we're hoping that over three years that number will grow to 20,000."

Mr Potts confirmed that local Queensland artist Livi Robins would be performing alongside Lady Antebellum and Troy Cassar-Daley. But aside from the now three confirmed artists, the line-up remains a secret.

"The next announcement will be on October 3 and there'll be an additional announcement after that to finish off the line-up," Mr Potts said.
