Termite treatment worker fined for breach of bail

TERMITE treatment worker Tony Salesa was fined $1100 when resentenced in the Ipswich Magistrates' Court for six breaches of bail.

Salesa, 25, pleaded guilty to contravening a community service work order in which Magistrate Louisa Pink said he failed to finish 80 hours of a work order at the Christian Church Samoa.

"I just don't have time", Salesa told her.

"On your weekends," Ms Pink said.

Salesa's duty lawyer said he conceded he should have finished the unpaid work order but as a termite treatment sprayer he travelled widely.

She said the order had been for breaches of a curfew imposed for drug charges with Salesa having matters in the Supreme Court.

Ms Pink convicted and fined him $400 for contravening the order then resentenced him on the breaches.

The fine was sent to SPER.
