Sweethearts to have audiences grooving at Studio 188

AUDIENCES will be dancing in their seats at the upcoming Sweethearts of Song performance at Studio 188.

Friends Kathleen Watts, Carolyn King, Maree Lansdown and Susie Walker met through the Esk community choir and discovered they all had a passion for singing on the stage.

Their first performance was in 2015 for a Remembrance Day concert at the Esk RSL, where they sung songs from the war years.

Maree Lansdown said their concert was so popular they were asked to perform again.

"After that first concert, there was a real demand for continued performances," she said.

"We have played in the Brisbane and Lockyer Valleys."

They have expanded their repertoire to include more famous songs from different eras.

"We now include songs from the 50s, 60s, right up to ABBA," Mrs Lansdown said.

They will bring their show to Studio 188 this Friday night for the first time.

All four women hope to see a big crowd on the night.

"We are really excited about performing in Ipswich. This will be our first show here," Mrs Lansdown said.

"One of my favourite songs to sing is called In the Mood. It's just one of those songs that gets people's toes tapping. It's a really fun song to perform.

"We are sure people will be there dancing in their seats and singing along."

The show will begin at 7pm.

Tickets are $15 each and bookings are essential.
