Strike action put on hold
STRIKE action at Queensland Urban Utilities' Ipswich depot has been put off – for now.
Workers at the Thorn Street depot had been tipped to walk off the job today over complaints of bullying and intimidation.
But after a meeting at the depot in at 7am, union members decided to continue working, although CFMEU organiser Barry Higgins said strike action had not been shelved.
Queensland Urban Utilities CEO Noel Faulkner said that “any specific allegations relating to the Thorn Street depot would be investigated thoroughly.”
