Star-studded cast for iconic production
ONE of Broadway's most iconic productions is coming to Brisbane's QPAC Playhouse Theatre for a strictly limited time.
Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman is lauded as one of the greatest plays of the 20th century after winning a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a Tony Award for Best Play in 1949.
It has been revived on Broadway four times, adapted for cinema and TV, and has won more awards every time it has been remade.
This year, seasoned director Jason Klarwein will be directing an all-star cast featuring Charles Allen (True West, Hoges: The Paul Hogan Story), Kevin Hides (Composing Venus), Peter Kowitz (Janet King, Crownies) and Gemma Willing (Tidelands, Wuthering Heights), just to name a few.
"70 years after the play was written, many of its themes still ring true," Mr Klarwein said.
"The story is rich with application to modern day happenings, testament to the writing of Arthur Miller. It's in every sense of the word, a modern classic, and it is a privilege to direct such an incredible cast."
Death of a Salesman runs from February 9 to March 2 at the Playhouse, QPAC.
