Seniors expo offers wealth of information
THE Springs Lifestyle Village Silkstone will be hosting an Over 50s Lifestyle Expo and Open Day on Saturday between 10am and 3pm.
The expo will feature displays and presentations from local businesses highlighting travel options for seniors, home care options, seniors activity groups and generating wealth in retirement.
The Springs Lifestyle Village manager Helen Henry said over 50s villages were becoming more and more popular with an ageing population as many older people looked to downsize from suburban residential living with large gardens, lawn upkeep and high maintenance.
"A village lifestyle offers private, secure living with access to many facilities such as a heated pool and gym, bowling and putting greens and community hall with a large catering kitchen and barbecue deck for family gatherings," she said.
"An active social club and art and craft groups bring opportunities for new friendships, travel and the development of hidden talents.
"Less time looking after the house and yard means more time for all of those things you have always wanted to do."
Mrs Henry said villas were spacious, pleasantly designed, low maintenance and well priced.
The Springs Lifestyle Village is a family owned business with onsite managers in a quiet cul-de-sac next to Bundamba Creek yet high enough to not be affected by any floods.
The Village is close to hospitals, shopping centres, medical services and Ipswich Central with easy access to the Cunningham Highway.
