Rugby 10s tournament trashed
THE Ipswich Rangers and Goodna Gladiators have had their pre-season preparations thrown into disarray.
After the Rangers Woodend field was closed due to the heavy rain, the Queensland Suburban Rugby Union decided to cancel this weekend's pre-season 10s tournament.
The tournament was to be held at the Rangers home ground, featuring teams from across Brisbane and the Gold Coast in attendance. The decision is yet to be made on whether the tournament will be moved to a later date.
Both Ipswich teams are set to compete in this year's Barber and Pegg Cup competitions which kick-off on April 29.
Goodna will host Wynnum at Evan Marginson Oval in their first round match, with the Rangers set to host Redlands at Woodend Park.
