Alliance will be 'Katterstrophic'
MEMBER for Lockyer Ian Rickuss has savaged neighbouring Boonah MP Aidan McLindon.
Mr Rickuss called Mr McLindon a 'oncer' and claimed his alliance with Federal MP Bob Katter would be "Katterstrophic" for south-east Queensland.
"This is the same member for Beaudesert who at the last election parachuted into Beaudesert to do the numbers and win preselection, spent LNP money on the campaign, bit the hand that helped him and then decided to become an independent," Mr Rickuss said in Parliament.
"He then promoted The Queensland Party and deserted to join the Australia Party."
Mr Rickuss said the currently unregistered Australia Party would be a disaster for regional Queensland.
"This would be 'Katterstrophic' for Australia, for Queensland and for the Lockyer," he said.
"So we have the zilch, zero, nought Katterstrophic Party built by Bob Katter, the federal member who least attends parliament, and the 'not known for anything, I belong to three different parties' group based on the Member for Beaudesert."
"He will be a one-timer. He will be a oncer - the Member for Beaudesert a oncer!"
Mr McLindon said Mr Rickuss should be more concerned with his own seat than worrying about Beaudesert.
"He'd be better off sticking to his own patch," Mr McLindon said.
"It's historically been one that's changed hands."
He said Mr Rickuss's Katterstrophic comments were correct.
"He said we'll be catastrophic and he's right.
"We'll be catastrophic to the LNP and ALP."
