Remand for former Lockyer Valley bikie on drug, gun charges
A FORMER bikie from the Lockyer Valley is facing drugs and weapons charges.
Gary Thomas Williams, 54, appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday where he faced two charges of possessing a dangerous drug, two weapons possession charges, obstructing police and an explosives act offence which arose from raids on his Lockrose home and Toowoomba business.
The court heard Williams was a former member of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang, but had left in February.
Williams has been charged with possessing two dangerous drugs - testosterone and amphetamines - at a Corset Rd property in Lockrose, north of Gatton, and assaulting or obstructing police at Lockrose on November 19.
He is also charged with possessing an unnamed category A weapon and a category H weapon, a handgun, and ammunition at a Jellicoe St location in Toowoomba and being involved in a fight in the Royal Hotel in Toowoomba.
Police allege Williams was a member of the Bandidos but left in February. The court heard he was a participant in the criminal motorcycle gang.
Williams' defence solicitor Claire Graham did not apply for bail.
Magistrate Bruce Schemioneck remanded Williams in custody until an expected appearance date of December 16.
