Police link bikie raids to double murder
POLICE have conducted dozens of raids on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and as far south as Sydney targeting the Lone Wolf Outlaw Motorcycle Gang and allegedly linked to the investigation of the murder of two Gold Coast men.
Shane Ross and Cameron Martin were killed in an execution-style murder on October 18 last year in the Tallebudgera area.
Police have also linked the raids to the kidnapping of two people in Ipswich days later on October 25.
Five people entered a business with faces covered and allegedly kidnapped a 55-year-old man and 40-year-old woman.
It is alleged they then viciously assaulted the man, causing significant injuries before dumping the two victims in bushland at Ripley.
Police became aware of the incident when a distressed woman with zip ties on her wrists and duct tape on her face attended a rural house seeking help.
Police today searched houses and storage sheds in Queensland and New South Wales. Seized in the searches were phones, clothing, two firearms and a large quantity of cash and illicit drugs.
The searches have all been linked to the Lone Wolf bikie gang, police have said.
Police are still appealing for anyone who may have seen a white BMW X5 with the closed plates 498 YRF in the southern Gold Coast area to contact police.
The car is also allegedly linked to the Palmvale area in northern New South Wales.
