Notion of agreeing to disagree has vanished
THE art of disagreement is dying. No longer is there a tolerance for opposing viewpoints in almost every society on Earth. This undermines the stability of every institution of every society.
Nations against nations, civil unrest and wars, governments in opposition, often violently, instead of working together as a unity for the good of the majority, are creating an unease and unrest globally, threatening world peace and stability. Power, control and being right overrides the need for compromise and harmony.
The UN can't work to find common ground. Even our own parliaments are like kindergartens, where name-calling and ridicule for simply stating one's viewpoint is an institution. Pauline Hanson is mocked for stating the blatantly obvious, condemned as a leader of One Nation, which continues to attract the disaffected, disillusioned with the establishment, its promises and status quo. No longer is there tolerance for "we agree to disagree" and leave it at that.
We see road rage and domestic violence, intolerance to other cultures, class and religions and the threat of war hovering, while the powerful display their egos and war toys. It begins at home and spreads like an epidemic.
