Morrison ready to work
DAVID Morrison has once again taken out Division 1 with a significant portion of the vote.
With 66.07% of the votes counted the sitting councillor was up 78.74% against rival Steven Purcell who received 21.26%.
"Thank you to all who helped with the election," Cr Morrison said
"It is an honour to be voted to represent Division 1 on Ipswich City Council once again.
"Rest assured I will not take this trust for granted."
The incumbent admitted it was always a challenge working in a such a dynamic division but assured voters he would continue to work hard and push the issues important to those in Division 1.
He said a key focus would be on the NBN to ensure telecommunications infrastructure was rolled out appropriately.
Cr Morrison also said road infrastructure was a key issue and road duplication needed to be rolled out further on the Centenary Hwy.
With the constantly developing Springfield area in mind, the re-elected councillor said it was also important to balance infrastructure with the needs of the environment.
