Man faces four drug and two weapons charges after raid

A WYBERBA man will face six charges following the discovery of 250 grams of marijuana at a Pyramids Rd property.

Wallangarra police, with the assistance of Stanthorpe police, acted on a search warrant to the Wyberba property at 12.30pm Monday.

Sergeant Alan Baker, of Wallangarra police, said they discovered nine marijuana plants under cultivation and then 250 grams of marijuana and a large quantity of marijuana seed inside the dwelling as well as drug utensils.

"We also discovered an unregistered rifle and quantity of ammunition," he said.

A 48-year-old Wyberba man has been charged with a number of alleged offences under the Drug Misuse Act including production of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of utensils and possession of things used in connection with dangerous drugs.

He was further charged under the Weapon's Act with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The man will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on January 23.
