Man charged over car park killing of Oakey man
BREAKING: A man charged with the murder of an Oakey man has been remanded in custody.
The 26-year-old Park Ridge man was referred to the Beenleigh Magistrates Court this afternoon and remanded in custody to reappear on September 4.
He has been charged with six offences including murder, two counts of supply dangerous drugs and one count each of armed robbery in company using personal violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and breach of bail.
The man was taken into custody following an incident at Berrinba, near Logan, on Sunday night.
A second man, Kye Enright, 21, remains on the run from police.
The public is warned not to approach Enright, but phone 000 immediately.
MONDAY, NOON: A man has been arrested in relation to the death of Oakey man Paul Rock at a Plainland hotel last week.
The Park Ridge man, 26, was arrested following an incident at Berrinba, near Logan, last night.
While he has been taken into police custody, no formal charges have been filed against him.
The man was one of two wanted by police as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged murder of Oakey man Paul Rock, 53, in the car park of the Porter's Plainland Hotel about 6pm last Monday.
Darling Downs Detective Inspector Lew Strohfeldt said police continued to appeal for help locating another man, Kye Enright, in relation to the incident.
"We are continuing to appeal for assistance from the community to locate Kye Enright, 21," Inspector Strohfeldt said.
"We believe he may be able to assist with the investigation."
Enright is described as Caucasian, about 156cm tall, with a slim build, brown hair and blue eyes.
The public is warned not to approach him but phone 000 immediately.
MONDAY, 8AM: A MAN has been arrested and is assisting police with investigations into the stabbing death of Oakey man in Plainland last week.
Mr Rock, 53, was allegedly stabbed multiple times in the car park of the Porter's Plainland Hotel about 6pm last Monday.
Detectives on Thursday released two images of men wanted in connection with the investigation.
The pair is believed to have travelled to the hotel shortly before 6pm Monday in a black sedan.
The sedan was last seen on the Ipswich Motorway at Goodna about 6.30pm.
Investigations into the alleged homicide are continuing, with detectives renewing an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
