LETTER: Beyond Blue money should stay here

RECENTLY my family donated $500 to "Beyond Blue".

After that on June 4 after a wild wet downpour of rain and wind, a group of us helped Cate Carter with a home-made cake and jam stall in Browns Park in aid of Beyond Blue.

We were there living on our nerves for fear it was going to be a washout.

When the money was counted we made $499.50 rounded off to $500, plus $270 prior to the sale of tickets, and $500 from our Mayor Pisasale. Thank you all.

Now since that day I have had a stint in hospital where I have learned that we must keep all this money in Queensland.

At present, funds go to Melbourne, Victoria.

I now ask the government to organise that we have a branch of Beyond Blue in Queensland in order to keep this money here.

This cause desperately needs help to support depression and save lives.
