TWO of Ipswich's greatest rugby league players returned to their home soil on Saturday night to pay tribute to their fans.

Alfie Langer and Kerrod Walters joined recently retired legend Darren Lockyer, Brisbane Broncos prop Ben Hannant and centre Justin Hodges at the Brisbane Broncos Regional Dinner at the Ipswich Civic Centre.

The dinner was part of the club's tour of regional areas to thank fans outside the state capital.

Walters, a former Swifts junior and Ipswich Jet, said the dinners aimed to raise money for local junior rugby league and awareness about the Broncos' support for regional areas.

The Regional Dinner Series roadshow comes as the club celebrates 25 years on the sports field.
