LETTERS: Labor Party opposition is healthy politics

ROSEWOOD'S Cr David Pahlke is trying to deny the democratic right of Labor Party members to stand against him at the upcoming election (QT 15/1).

I agree with political aspirant Danny Donohue and the state ALP secretary, Evan Moorhead, that Cr Pahlke is suffering pre-election delusional paranoia of a conspiracy theorist.

Instead of the McCarthy era stance of a "Red under every bed", Cr Pahlke should accept that the cornerstone of our

democracy is the right of all individuals to stand for public office.

The alternative view is the one embraced in the past by Stalin, Lenin, Marx and Chairman Mao - strange bedfellows, even for Cr Pahlke.
