BRUSHGROVE teenager Abbie Weir's brush with the world of modelling has her itching to shake off the little-town blues and head for the big smoke.

After three months away from home with the Australia's Next Top Model team, the 17-year-old Year 12 student can hardly wait to get down to Sydney and join up with friends she has made on the show and pursue a glamour career.

Just how Abbie fared on the show, now in its eighth series, she cannot tell.

"I know who's in the last three, but if I told you I'd have to kill you," she said from her home.

"Everyone will have to wait until the final, which will be shown live in September."

Abbie said it was hard being away from home at first, but found she quickly made friends with other girls in the group.

She said she become good friends with Perth girl Taylah Roberts and they plan to move to Sydney together next year.

"We want to get started and build our modelling careers," Abbie said.

The stunning teen has already been doing work locally, modelling for photographer Pixie Bella.

"Going on the show has opened my eyes to what's possible," she said.

"I really feel with what I've learned I can be a top model."

When she leaves the show she will be armed with a portfolio of shots from some of Australia's leading fashion photographers.

"Each week we have a different photo shoot with these brilliantly talented photographers," she said.

"I've got a portfolio of the most amazing photographs.

"The whole experience is something I'm really proud of."

Abbie was tight-lipped about this week's controversial show, after it was reported one of the models choked another during a shoot near Broken Hill.

"It's a pretty full-on episode, that's all I can say," she said.

As for how far Abbie goes in the series....

"You'll have to tune in on Tuesday nights," she said.
