UPDATE: Police search school grounds after threat
UPDATE 11AM: Queensland Police have searched the school and have allowed students to return to class.
Ipswich Grammar School students and staff were gathered on the oval for about two hours while police responded to a threat made on the phone.
Police determined there was no threat.
The school said the rest of the school day would now continue as normal.
"Queensland Police Service have completed an exhaustive search of our campus and are satisfied there is no threat," it wrote.
"Our boys are safe and are now moving back to the appropriate areas to have morning tea.
"We thank Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service for their assistance today."
10.30AM: Students remain on the Ipswich Grammar School oval two hours after the school was evacuated following a telephone threat.
Queensland Police is managing the situation.
Students are expected to remain on the oval for a while longer while police assess the threat.
EARLIER: Ipswich Grammar School has been evacuated after a threat was phoned in.
About 8.30am on Tuesday the school advised parents it would be evacuated after an incident.
"Due to a telephone threat this morning, all staff and boys have been evacuated," the school wrote on Facebook.
"Queensland Police are on site and assisting us with managing the situation."
The school has been contacted for comment.
