IPSWICH hockey player Jordyn Holzberger has retained her place in the Hockeyroos squad preparing for next month's Hawkes Bay Cup in New Zealand.

After a week-long super camp at the AIS in Canberra which was attended by 42 athletes, Holzberger was named for the Aussie team's next overseas mission.

Queenslanders Jacqui Day and Ashlea Fey join Victorian Kristina Bates and Western Australian Georgia Wilson as newcomers in the national squad.

The new recruits boost the Hockeyroos numbers to 27, adding new range and experience to the number four world ranked team.

"The camp was an excellent opportunity for us to look at both our national squad and the development squad as we looked to select an additional four new players to the senior squad for 2017,'' head coach Paul Gaudoin said.

"In the end, Jacqui, Ashlea, Kristina and Georgia proved that they had both the ability and the determination to add depth to the current Hockeyroos roster.''

Holzberger, 23, is in the 18-strong Hockeyroos touring party heading to Hastings later this month for the Hawkes Bay Cup tournament.

The hard-working midfielder is re-establishing herself in the top national squad after impressing in recent national and international tournaments following a break from national duty due to injury.
