Ipswich MP promoted in Cabinet reshuffle
IPSWICH MP Jennifer Howard has been promoted to Assistant Minister for Local Government.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk made the announcement on Monday as part of her long-awaited Cabinet reshuffle.
Ms Palaszczuk said her revamped Cabinet team would drive the government's broad economic and social policy agenda into 2016 and beyond.
She said a mixture of new energy and experience would be included in the Cabinet.
"I am extremely proud of what my government has achieved already in 2015, and I know 2016 is going to be even bigger and better," she said.
"I have made a point of leading an open and consultative qovernment that takes Queenslanders with us when it comes to job creation policies, economic growth initiatives and the delivery of better frontline services.
"And with our broad policy agenda, business leaders and community groups have told me that an increase to the size of the Cabinet will only strengthen our efforts.
Ms Howard will be the city's only voice in Cabinet after controversial Bundamba MP Jo-Ann Miller quit her role as Police Minister last week after a damning ethics report labelled her behaviour as reckless.
