Hockeyroo rates Cade 'one to watch in future'

WITH strong Ipswich ties, Australian player Jordyn Holzberger was pleased to see another local product performing so well at the recent national league hockey championships.

Kholo goalkeeper Cade Banditt made the most of his call-up to the Queensland Blades side that won the silver medal after a thrilling shootout in Perth.

The Blades rookie played in most games, only being replaced for the extra-time period where Victoria broke the 1-1 deadlock.

Having to withdraw from the Queensland Scorchers team after injuring her hamstring, Holzberger saw Banditt make his successful senior state team debut.

"He played really well, especially for his age,'' Holzberger said of the 19-year-old.

"He'll be one to watch in the future.''
