The wife of former Hillsong megachurch pastor Carl Lentz has broken her vow of silence six months after the pair was fired from the megachurch due to his infidelity.

Lentz, 42, was kicked out of the popular church last year after a number of "moral failures"

that were later revealed as him cheating on his wife.

Lentz had run Hillsong's campus in New York City and had been popular among its many celebrity adherents including Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey and NBA player Kevin Durant.

He and his wife, Laura, who have been married for 17 years and share three children, moved from the east coast of the US to Los Angeles after he was sacked in an attempt to salvage their marriage.

"I have looked at these palm trees everyday for the past few months & there are many symbolic meanings to these amazing trees," Laura Lentz, 40, begins the meandering Instagram caption on a shot of palm trees and a sunny sky, posted on May 5 - the couple's 18th wedding anniversary. "a few that have resonated with me during this season of my life: they are strong, can weather the biggest storms, they always grow upwards."

The lengthy post goes on to explain that Lentz took a break from Instagram, where she has over 312,000 followers and last posted in October, because social media "was not good for my soul."

Meanwhile, Carl, 42, who has over 663,000 followers on Instagram, has not posted since he announced his departure from Hillsong on Nov. 5.

Before returning on Wednesday, Lentz said she "blocked & deleted more people & comments than I can count."

She also declares that "trolls are cowards" and that "SOME 'Christians' are anything but kind, gracious, or loving." Despite such toxic individuals, she continues, she cannot be stopped from "growing upwards & getting stronger."

Bieber, who once counted Carl among his best friends, has also recently made critical comments, vaguely critiquing pastors who "put themselves on this pedestal." Other critics of the megachurch didn't mince their words.

In the months since her husband's affair was revealed and both were let go from their positions leading the Australia-based church's NYC branch, Lentz has "learnt a lot about herself" she wrote.

Laura concludes her post by declaring her heart "free of bitterness" while warning that she "will not forget who abandoned us" and thanking those who "have stayed & loved us."

Among the many responses to the post is a note from Hillsong senior pastor and co-founder Bobbie Houston, 64.

"Laura. It's been an arduous, taxing and sad season," Houston commented. "Time is a faithful friend when we allow it to heal. Glad you are feeling stronger. Praying better days are ahead for everyone. - Bobbie"

Neither Hillsong nor Lentz immediately returned request for comment.
