Head Injuries revives slick sounds of Midnight Oil

IPSWICH music lovers can embrace the power of Midnight Oil and rekindle their passion for the band at a tribute show next Saturday.

Cover band Head Injuries will perform some of The Oils' best-known songs, including Beds are Burning, Run by Night and Blue Sky Mine.

Head Injuries, made up of experienced musicians and fronted by Pete Fernance, recreate the powerful live energy of The Oils, as well as Peter Garrett's creative dance moves. Midnight Oil rose to fame in the 1970s, and their songs are still popular today.

Tracks such as Beds are Burning have achieved an iconic status within Australian culture as protest or social justice songs.

Head Injuries will perform from 8pm next Saturday at the Racehorse Hotel, 215 Brisbane Rd, Booval.

Tickets are priced at $10 and can be bought at the door or online at ticketmaster.com.au.

The event is strictly 18 plus.
