ONE person is in custody and police are searching for at least one more person after a police pursuit through Ipswich this morning.

Multiple people led police on a dramatic chase in a stolen orange sedan about 11am, which included driving down the footpath of the Ipswich CBD.

Initial reports suggested an elderly lady using a walker in the CBD had been hit but police later confirmed the sedan had narrowly missed her and she was not injured.

Owner of Tivity Party, Gifts and Homeware Vinh Truong cauhgt a snippet of the incident on his CCTV.

"We just heard the screeching of tyres and then this bang sound," Mr Truong told the Queensand Times.

He said he saw the car hit the curb before screeching down footpath in front of businesses.

"Some lady was screaming but they just missed her on her walker," he said.

"She was really scared.

"They took the lady to the doctor next door, I think she's ok."

PolAir was called in and road spikes were used in an attempt to stop the car but it travelled some distance on the Warrego Hwy before being dumped in the Kerwick Hotel parking lot at Redbank.
