Fire crews kept on the hop by brush fires
FIRE crews were kept busy yesterday with a series of vegetation fires which broke out across Ipswich.
The first fire was reported in Condamine Dr in Fernvale at 7.58am, followed four hours later with another grass fire at Mount Crosby Rd in Karana Downs and a third at Karrabin-Rosewood Rd, Walloon, at 1.06pm.
A spokesperson for the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service said none of the fires posed an immediate threat to nearby residents.
Due to a large smoke haze though, residents were advised to keep their doors and windows closed.
