Female-friendly mechanics get thumbs up from fans

IPSWICH has voted for its favourite place to shop across the city in the final Queensland Times poll calling on the public to celebrate local business.

MAS Automotive's loyal band of customers secured the West Ipswich store the number one spot in our Top 10 Business Overall category.

The service centre was nominated several times on the QT Facebook page for its female-friendly service and regular follow-up telephone calls with customers.

Beauty and make-up were the other big winners for QT Facebook fans - four out of the top 10 nominated businesses were in the beauty sector.

Violet Brown mobile makeovers, Peak-a-Do House of Hair, Beauty and Nails, Tyneale Hahn Make Up Artist and Ella Bache all made it into the top 10.

The Facebook Top 10 series is part of the Queensland Times campaign City Pride, which ran throughout August.

Past winning nominations included Tomato Brothers in Customer Service, Tactical Ops Paintball in New Business and Limelight Cinemas Ipswich for Riverlink Shopping Centre Top 10.

The City Pride campaign called on Ipswich residents to support local business by shopping at more than 370 City Pride-participating businesses for the chance to share in $11,000 in prizes.

Shoppers who picked up an entry form any time during August still have a chance to enter the final prize, worth $5500.

Entries will be open until 5pm this Friday and the prize will be drawn on Monday, September 8.
