Erin Molan fires back about her $100k engagement ring

ERIN Molan has opened up about her head-turning engagement ring after her jeweller confirmed the sparkler's rough estimation as in the $100,000 range.

Co-host Paul Vautin brought up the publicity surrounding Molan's bling on The NRL Footy Show last night.

"I've got to say, your ring got a lot of attention," he said on the program.

Molan replied: "It has. It's not about the ring. It's about the love. You know that."

Molan's police officer Sean Ogilvy fiance proposed to her on a trip to Tasmania recently and had saved up for six months to buy her the ring.

The handcrafted 18-carat white gold ring has three carats of brilliant oval and pear cut diamonds.

But Zena Kaddour, from House of K'dor in Chatswood, would not confirm how much "dear friend" Ogilvy actually paid for it after social media went into meltdown about whether it was a gift.

But the jeweller confirmed it was purchased and not gifted.

"Absolutely blown away by your incredible generosity and superb craftsmanship @houseofkdor - it was slightly awkward when we ran into you on our THIRD date and you gave Sean a card in case he ever wanted to propose... but I'm sooooo glad you did," Molan wrote on Instagram last week.

"You supported me from Day 1 - before anyone else - and I love you and Tariq so much. I'm almost embarrassed it's so beautiful and divine and feel very unworthy of wearing it (think Bridesmaids movie when she is trying to get into Business Class- 'help me I'm poor') but will treasure it and what it represents for the rest of my life xx"
