Neighbours' cat fight over unregistered dog notice
IT WAS a cat fight over dogs.
When Lauren Leigh Hughes received correspondence from council over her unregistered dog she got angry at her neighbour.
After reading the letter on August 6, the 21-year-old started yelling obscenities at the neighbour from the mailbox.
The neighbour, fearing for her safety, called police.
Hughes pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday to a charge of public nuisance.
The court heard Hughes had previously reported her neighbour to council for her barking dogs and she felt her neighbour was getting revenge on her by reporting her unregistered dog.
Magistrate Cameron Press said he didn't know why she got upset; pointing out if she had registered her dog, there would have been nothing to report.
He fined Hughes $400.
