Cancer patients urged to use phone service
A TELEPHONE counselling service for people with cancer is now operating.
Cancer Council Queensland launched the service last year and has now called for people who may need extra support through or after their treatment to access it.
CCQ spokeswoman Katie Clift said people with cancer or their family members could phone the service to access self-help strategies and other support.
People can also get referred to a face-to-face psychologist if required.
"Almost all survivors experience one or more emotional concerns after treatment, and most do not access help with coping," Ms Clift said.
Phone 131120 to access the service.
