Bombers not just here to make up the numbers

"DO THE little things right”.

It is the oft easier said than done approach to winning finals footy, but that is the creed Fassifern coach Michael Hayes is preaching to his charges ahead of today's Reserve Grade semi-final at North Ipswich Reserve.

"You've always got to be confident. (Swifts) play a pretty similar game to us, it will come down to who makes less mistakes and gives away less penalties,” he said.

Swifts and Fassifern have traded wins this season, but the Bombers have won the past two contests.

Hayes said he would not be happy if the Bombers' finals campaign came to a premature end today.

"The goal at the start of the year was not just make finals, but win it,” he said.

"We've been a little short on numbers at times and could have been higher up the ladder, but we're pretty fit and healthy (now).”

Hayes said halfback Callum Mcinnes' kicking game would be instrumental to a Bombers win.
