Aussies off the pace as Casey shoots ahead
GOLF: Australian stars Jason Day and Adam Scott are way off the pace after the third round of the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Scott shot a one-under-par 70 to trail leader Englishman Paul Casey by 10 shots in the second of the four playoff tournaments for the FedEx Cup.
Compatriot and world No.1 Jason Day is a shot further behind after returning his best round of the tournament - a three-under-par 68 - at TPC Boston.
Day's round included five birdies and an eagle, but a double bogey on the 10th hole stalled any chance he had of making a run up the leaderboard.
Aaron Baddeley is at one-under-par after shooting 71, while Marc Leishman slipped out of contention with a three-over-par 74.
Casey eagled the final hole to jump to a three-stroke lead.
There was heartbreak for two Aussie golfers across the world.
Minjee Lee had to settle for a share of second place at the Manulife Classic in Ontario, Canada. She shot a four-under-par 68 closing round but 27-year-old Caroline Masson from Germany went one shot better with a 67 to win by a stroke.
In Switzerland, Aussie Scott Hend was beaten in a playoff at the European Masters.
Sweden's Alex Noren hit a final-round of 65, then birdied the first extra hole after the pair tied on 17-under.
