Police call for witnesses in Coast cyclist crash death
UPDATE: THE police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the death of a 56-year-old Sunrise Beach man who crashed while riding a bicycle at Peregian Beach on Saturday.
Preliminary information suggests about 8:15am the man was riding north along David Low Way and he has approached the roundabout and has then crashed into the curb head first.
Emergency services attended however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam to contact them.

EARLIER: A cyclist has died after crashing into a pole at speed on a Sunshine Coast road.
Emergency services were called to David Low Way at Peregian Beach about 8.20am Saturday.
Sunshine Coast district officer Jason Overland said the 56-year-old Sunshine Coast man was riding north on David Low when it appeared he lost control at the roundabout junction with Podargus Parade.
Inspector Overland said the man had sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash into the pole.
Tributes online described the man as an "all around amazing guy" who had left behind a family.
