Alleged drug-dealing duo granted Christmas wish

AN ALLEGED drug dealer will have his reins loosened over Christmas to enjoy the festive season with his co-accused.

Teej Lloyd Williams and his father Trevor John Williams stand accused of a slew of drug offences in relation to a "sophisticated drug business" which was brought down by a four-month Criminal Investigation Bureau operation targeting the pair.

The pair appeared together in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday for a mention of their case and a special Christmas request.

The court heard both men made bail in September, but two of the conditions of Teej Williams' bail meant he was unable to have contact with his father and had to abide by a 7am to 7pm curfew.

Defence solicitor Brian McGowran told the court Teej Williams desired two bail conditions be suspended from December 24 to 26 so he could spend Christmas with his father and family.

Teej Williams' request was upheld by the presiding magistrate with a warning his full bail conditions would go back into effect on December 27.

The men will appear before the court again on January 15.
