Adrenalin rushes, sprint finales and outlaw challenges

THE year is heading fast towards Christmas so much of the motor racing is winding down.

However, it doesn't stop the action at the Ipswich Motorsport Precinct.

At Queensland Raceway on Saturday, another batch of lucky budding race drivers will hit the track with V8 Race Experience.

The V8 Race Experience is one of the most exhilarating things you can do.

It's the adrenalin rush and you're in control of a big V8 making lots of noise at speeds you can't do on the road.

I'm itching to do it again and will be hinting to the family what to buy me for Christmas this year.

Meanwhile, the final round of the Ipswich Sprint Series concludes on Sunday afternoon. It tops off a big year of 18 sprints at Queensland Raceway.

Seven classes will be decided from racing through to the road four cylinder, six cylinders and eight cylinders.

In The Road 4 class, David Sorrell in a Renault Cleo looks like he will take out the overall championship trophy. That goes to show if you run consistently you can win the series.

At Willowbank Raceway, a number of places have been filled for the Outlaw Armageddon on December 30.

US legend Larry Larson takes on Australia in a lights out affair.

Only one more spot is to be filled in what will be an epic event.

On December 9, the Diesel Assault returns to Willowbank.

Some great diversity of machinery gets along to this night and its so much fun.

Seeing Hilux's VS VW's is great.

Last weekend, the final Street Sprint was huge at Queensland Raceway.

More than 80 cars competed with the weapon of choice being a Toyota 86. But it was Phil Sutcliffe in his R35 GTR that blew the timesheets away and took out the series.
